Privacy notice
Last updated 30 October 2026. This explains what personal information 4evershown collects, why, and what your rights are.
1. Who is responsible
Joys Ltd, Le Foulon Road, St. Peter Port, Guernsey GY1 1YR (“we”), is the controller of the personal information described here. Contact us at [email protected].
2. What we collect, why, and how long we keep it
| What | Why (and our legal basis) | How long |
|---|---|---|
| Your email address, and the sign-in codes we send you | To create your account and let you sign in. (Contract: providing the service.) | Your account lasts until you ask us to delete it. A sign-in code works once and expires after 10 minutes. We never ask you to set a password. |
| Your name and organisation (optional) | To know who we are talking to and to address you properly. (Legitimate interests.) | Until you change or remove them, or your account is deleted. |
| Your marketing choice, and when and how you made it | To send you news and special offers by email only if you ticked the box, and to prove that you did. (Consent.) We record the date and the exact wording you agreed to. | Until you withdraw. You can switch it off any time under “Your details” in the designer, with the unsubscribe link in every marketing email, or by emailing us. We then keep only a record that you opted out. |
| Your content: logos, images, PDFs, overlays, saved designs and looks | To store your designs so you can continue them on any computer, and to draw your videos. This may include photographs of people that you choose to upload. (Contract.) | Until you delete the design or your account. Content you use only to preview in your own browser stays on your computer. |
| Render records, finished videos and images, and an email when one is ready | To produce, deliver and account for the videos and images you ask for, and credits, including emailing you a download link if you leave "Email me the download link" ticked. (Contract.) | Finished videos are deleted 7 days after they are made. A short record of each render (size, length, time, credits) is kept with your account. |
| Credits and, when payments are switched on, payment records | To keep your balance and meet our tax and accounting duties. (Contract; legal obligation.) We do not see or store card numbers: the payment provider does. | As long as accounting law requires (usually six years). |
| Technical information: your internet address (IP address), browser type and the pages and files requested | To run the service securely and fairly: limiting abuse and the number of free tests, and fixing faults. (Legitimate interests.) | Our own limits keep addresses in memory for up to an hour. Our network provider (below) may keep them for longer, typically days to weeks. |
| Messages you send us | To reply to you. (Legitimate interests.) | For as long as needed to deal with your query. |
We do not use advertising or analytics trackers, we do not sell your information or share it with other companies for their marketing, and we do not use your content to train AI models.
3. Cookies and similar storage
- One cookie that keeps you signed in (“ll_session”). It is necessary for the service, lasts up to 30 days, and is removed when you sign out.
- Your browser’s own storage remembers things such as the access token you typed, your last project, unsaved logos and your saved looks, so the page works the way you left it. This stays on your computer and you can clear it in your browser settings.
- We set no advertising or tracking cookies. The first time you visit, a notice explains what is stored and asks you to accept or decline. If you decline we store nothing, clear anything already stored and sign you out; you can still read the site but cannot sign in or use the designer. You can change your choice at any time: Privacy choices.
4. Who we share it with
- Cloudflare, Inc., which carries our website traffic and protects it from attacks. Everything you send to 4evershown passes through its network, and it processes your IP address for that purpose. Cloudflare may process information outside Guernsey, under standard safeguards.
- Our email provider Rackspace, to deliver sign-in codes.
- Paddle.com Market Limited (“Paddle”), our payment provider and Merchant of Record. When you buy credits, Paddle collects your payment details, your name, email address and billing country, works out and pays any sales tax or VAT, and keeps its own records under its own privacy notice. We receive confirmation of the purchase, not your card number.
- Professional advisers, and authorities if the law requires it.
Your designs and videos are stored and rendered on our own computers in Guernsey. We do not share your content with anyone else.
5. Your rights
Under the data protection law of the Bailiwick of Guernsey (the Data Protection (Bailiwick of Guernsey) Law, 2017) you can ask us to: give you a copy of your information; correct it; delete it; restrict or stop how we use it; or give it to you in a portable format. Where we rely on legitimate interests you can object. To use any of these, email [email protected]; we will reply within one month. To delete your account and everything saved in it, email us from the address you signed in with.
If you are unhappy with how we handle your information, please tell us first. You can also complain to the Office of the Data Protection Authority in Guernsey (odpa.gg), or, if you live elsewhere, to your own data protection regulator.
6. Content that shows other people
If you upload pictures of other people (players, drivers, winners, guests), you are responsible for having the right to use them and for telling them as the law requires. We process that content only on your behalf, to build your display.
7. Security
Connections to 4evershown are encrypted. Sign-in codes work once, expire quickly and are stored only as one-way hashes, access tokens are stored only as one-way hashes, finished videos are deleted after 7 days, and the machines that render your videos are not open to the internet. No system is perfectly secure, so please do not upload anything you could not bear to lose or have exposed.
8. Children
4evershown is not for people under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
9. Changes
If we change this notice, we will update the date at the top and, for important changes, tell signed-in users.
